Municipal Water Treatment

FloFoam Range of Antifoams

A range of products tailored for foam treatment in wastewater sludge dewatering, digesters and biological aeration processes.

The range includes products suitable for pre-conditioning of sludges that do not affect the dewatering process or polymer effectiveness.

Key applications include

  • Centrifuges – FloFoam products can be added to the sludge feed and/or the centrate.
  • Aeration lanes – FloFoam products are used to manage stabilised foams on aeration lanes.
  • Foaming digesters – FloFoam products can be used to overcome excessive foam in digesters.

Products available in kegs and IBC’s.

FloSperse Range of Antiscalants

A range of products designed to disperse scale-forming precipitates in wastewater treatment applications.

Salts that deposit in wastewater treatment tend to be Calcite (calcium carbonate) and Struvite (magnesium ammonium phosphate) and their build up can lead to shut down or break down in a matter of weeks.

The method for overcoming these process interruptions is either manual scraping or chemical dispersion.

The FloSperse range of products achieves this dispersion by

  • Reducing crystal growth rates
  • Consuming calcium and magnesium salts in the formation of water soluble complex ions

The range is

  • Highly stable
  • Easily dosed
  • Environmentally safe
  • Available in kegs and IBC’s

Chemically Aided Settlement (CAS)

The FloQuat range of products consists of organic polymers and blends of organic polymers and inorganic salts.

The range is designed to ensure targeted treatment, using accurate dosing to ensure a return to normal settlement rates.

The FloQuat range is designed for use when normal settlement processes are failing and is generally used in

  • Final Settlement Tanks
  • Aeration Lanes
  • Primary Settlement Tanks
  • Humus Tanks
  • Any plant where discharge consent is at risk

Metalsorb Range of Heavy Metal Chelating Agents

Wastewater incineration concentrates some of the heavy metals present and a chelating agent is used to precipitate these out in the Scrubber Effluent Treatment plant.

The Metalsorb is added after pH correction and followed by the addition of a coagulant. A flocculant then assists in solid/liquid separation producing a solid product and a clean liquid effluent.

Cleaning Products

Maintreat and Rempol are used for treating polymer spills but also for cleaning filter presses and thickener belts.

Maintreat is used primarily for emulsion polymer and Stripol for powder polymer.
